What is the difference between ferrous and non-ferrous metals?

Ferrous metals are iron-based, such as steel and cast iron. Non-ferrous metals are not iron-based; examples include copper, aluminum and brass. A magnet alone cannot identify every metal: some stainless steel grades are not magnetic. Tell us what you have if you are unsure.

Can I bring a mixed load?

Tell us which materials are in the load and roughly how much of each you have. Ask the yard to confirm acceptance and sorting requirements before you visit. Keep unlike items separate where practical.

What information should I share for a quote?
